No. The app registers one automatic discount backed by a Shopify Function, and that function decides on every cart change whether the cart qualifies. There is no code to publish, type or remember.

The discount does, whatever your theme is, because it is applied by Shopify at checkout rather than by your theme.

The product page card needs an Online Store 2.0 theme whose product template accepts app blocks, which most current themes do. If yours cannot take app blocks, you lose the card, not the discount. The card’s “Match the section” colour option resolves on Dawn and themes derived from it; on other themes, pick one of the numbered colour schemes instead.

One thing your checkout does have to be: Shopify’s extensible checkout. Shopify Functions do not run on the legacy checkout.liquid.

The app’s discount is set to combine with product discounts and with shipping discounts, and not with other order discounts, because two order-level discounts would take a cut of the same money twice.

Shopify combines two discounts only when both are set to combine with the other’s class, so the discount on the other side has to permit it too. That applies to automatic discounts and to discount codes alike: a product discount code that permits combining can sit alongside a complete set reward, while an order discount code cannot.

On the product page, if you have added the theme block: the offer, the saving, a progress count, and the items still missing.

In the cart and at checkout, a pair bundle appears as a discount against the discounted line, labelled “Bundle discount”. A complete set appears as an order discount labelled “Complete the set name”. Both are ordinary Shopify discounts, so they appear on the order and in Shopify’s own discount reporting.

Nothing is discounted. A set pays out only when every item is in the cart at the same time, and a pair bundle only when both products are. Remove one and the discount goes with it, immediately, in the cart and at checkout.

The product page card is there to make that visible: it shows how many items are collected and what is still missing.

No. One of each item is enough, and buying several of one member does not increase the discount rate. A complete set’s reward applies to the subtotal of the member lines in the cart, so extra quantities of member products are included in the amount that is discounted.

Each set has a Count out-of-stock items as collected setting, on by default. With it on, an item that is sold out everywhere counts as already collected, so buyers can still finish the set while you restock. With it off, every item has to be in the cart.

Stock status is a snapshot from the last time your sets were compiled for checkout, not a live reading, so a product that sells out right after that compile still counts as purchasable until the next one.

No. It creates no bundle product, no combined SKU and no draft orders. Buyers buy your existing products, at a discount. Inventory is Shopify’s, untouched by the app.

Refunds work exactly as they do for any Shopify order with a discount on it, and are handled in Shopify admin. The app has no part in it: it does not request the order or customer access scopes, so it cannot see orders at all, and it does nothing after checkout.

Worth knowing when you set a reward: if a buyer returns one item of a completed set, the rest of the order was still sold at the set price. Shopify’s refund screen lets you decide what to give back.

A percentage reward is safe anywhere, because a percentage is applied to the prices in the cart, in whatever currency the buyer is checking out in.

A fixed amount reward is stored as a plain number. If you sell in several currencies, percentage rewards are the predictable choice.

At the bundle allowance the app stops you creating new bundles; the ones you have keep working. Past the set allowance, the extra sets are switched off at checkout rather than deleted, oldest kept, and switch back on by themselves when you upgrade. There are also fixed ceilings that apply on every plan, listed on the limits page.

No. If two sets complete at once, Shopify keeps whichever is worth more to the buyer and drops the other. Pair bundles are separate: several pair bundles in one cart all apply, and a pair bundle can apply alongside a complete set.

Checkout reads a compiled copy of your sets, which the app rewrites whenever you save a set in the app. A change made outside the app, such as adding a product to a collection a set is built from, does not trigger that rewrite. Open the set in Bundles Monk and save it.

No. The discount applies without it. But buyers have no way of discovering the offer until something on the page says so, which is what the block is for.

Nothing. It does not request the customer or order access scopes, so Shopify does not send it that data. The discount function receives cart contents transiently inside Shopify’s own infrastructure and returns a decision; nothing from it reaches us. Shopify removes the app’s automatic discount, so bundle and set discounts stop applying, and the definitions the app created go with it. We delete the session records for your store immediately on uninstall. Your products, collections and orders are untouched.
